After a long trial in Lowell Superior Court, the trial team of Jim Wilkinson and Heidi Oh secured a defense verdict on behalf of their client, a primary care physician. The case involved an alleged failure to discuss and offer PSA testing, resulting in a delay in diagnosis of prostate cancer in a 65-year-old patient. Through cross-examination of plaintiffs’ experts and extensive preparation of the defense case, Jim and Heidi were able to present evidence that the defendant met and exceeded the applicable standard of care, and that if a PSA test had been ordered, it would have made no difference in the plaintiff’s prostate cancer prognosis.
